THE CITY OF COPENHAGEN
Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and the cultural, educational, and economic centre of the country. The city houses the Royal Family, the Danish Parliament, a number of government and financial institutions, as well as international organisations and company headquarters. It is also Denmark’s largest city, the centre of a metropolitan region that is home to nearly 1.2 million residents - one quarter of the entire population in Denmark. A new bridge between Copenhagen and Malmö, in southern Sweden, has lead to the growth of a new economic region with Copenhagen as the natural centre. This development will increase the traffic pressure in Copenhagen
