Nice
THE CITY OF NICE
The city of Nice is situated on the Mediterranean coast in the South of France, between the cities of Marseille in France, and Genoa in Italy. Especially since the 1950’s Nice has been the hot spot of the international jet set. Those days are a bit over, but still there is a high concentration of famous stars here who bought houses and have their yachts anchored in the harbour of nice.
The city is a major tourist centre and a leading resort on the French Riviera also known under the name “Côte d'Azur” which is one of the most beautiful coast lines in Europe and very appreciated because of its mild climate all through the year. In 2006, Nice had 347.000 inhabitants.
Cherbourg
THE CITY OF CHERBOURG
Cherbourg is a naval station and fortified town in the Manche département, Basse-Normandie région of north-western France. The port of Cherbourg is situated close to the important sea routes through the English Channel. General cargo traffic is less important that the cross-channel passenger and freight traffic. The port of Cherbourg is also a station for ships of the French Navy
