Civitavecchia (Rome)
THE CITY OF CIVITAVECCHIA ROME
The name Civitavecchia means "ancient town". It is a sea port on the Tyrrhenian Sea and is located 80 kilometres west-north-west of Rome, across the Mignonette river. Civitavecchia is today a major cruise and ferry port, the main starting point for sea connection from central Italy to Sardinia, Sicily, Malta,Tunis and Barcelona. Fishing has a secondary importance The harbour is formed by two moles and a breakwater, on which is a lighthouse.

Livorno, also called Leghorn (is a port city on the Ligurian Sea on the western edge of Tuscany, Italy. It is the capital of the Province of Livorno and the third-largest port on the western coast of Italy, having a population of approximately 170,000 residents as of the year 2007. The city is intersected and bordered by canals connecting with the sea and the Arno River.

Genoa (Genova in Italian) is the capital of the Province of Genoa and of the region of Liguria in Italy. The city has a population of about 610,000 people. Genoa is a maritime town and an important seaport. It is ranked 5th in Italy for economic strength, after Rome, Milan, Turin and Naples, and is a major industrial city, being part of the nation's famous "industrial triangle”. Historical elements as well as modern living come together in this city. Genoa also has one of the best modern universities. Ferries to Africa and other European harbours arrive and dock in the Old Harbour (Porto Antico). The busy port is still being guarded by the Torre della Lanterna, an old lighthouse.
