Brisbane is a city in the eastern part of Australia. It is the capital of Queensland. The city lies at the eastern coast of Australia on the Brisbane River, about 20 km from Moreton Bay. The population of Brisbane was 1.676.389 in 2006. This makes it the third largest city in Australia, after Sydney and Melbourne. Brisbane is very popular among young tourist because of its large nightlife areas with many clubs, bars and restaurants. The city has a subtropical climate with warm summers and very mild winters.

Fremantle is a port city in Western Australia, located 19 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of Perth (for which is serves as the port). Perth is the state capital, at the mouth of the Swan River on Australia's western coast.
Perth is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia. With a population of 1,650,000 (2009), Perth ranks as fourth largest city of Australia. Perth was founded on 12 June 1829 by Captain James Stirling as the political centre of the free settler Swan River Colony. It has continued to serve as the seat of Government for Western Australia to the present day. Its port, Fremantle, is slightly older than Perth.
